Five people, one of whom is a manager of a New York strip club and four of his dancers, are accused of drugging wealthy men, taking them to topless clubs, and making exorbitant charges on their credit cards for various unspecified services and purchases.
According to investigators, the unsuspecting wealthy victims are brought to Scores and Roadhouse NYC Gentlemen's Club in Flushing, Queens, where their credit cards are taken from them and charged with various purchases amounting to thousands of dollars. All in all, more than $200,000 were billed to the suspects from September to December of last year. One doctor from New Jersey discovered a charge amounting to $100,000 on his credit card in one night while others were victimized from September to December of the previous year.
The women, whose job entailed stalking prospects such as doctors, lawyers, and bankers in expensive restaurants would hand victims tainted drinks that contained ketamine and "molly", the street slang for MDMA, and would later take them to topless clubs like Scores and Roadhouse NYC. Authorities further added that the women were not employed in either clubs but did work in the same area.
According to prosecutors, none of the victims remembered being in the aforementioned clubs or made expensive purchases on their credit cards. They only found out about the purchases after receiving their credit statements from their banks.
Victims further note that whenever they tried to cancel the charges, the suspects would call them and send them threatening messages. In a statement, DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt says, "This crime ring targeted wealthy men in the New York City area to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars."
Aside from extortion, the five perpetrators of the crime also face grand larceny, conspiracy, assault and forgery.
