Tracy Morgan dead reports may have left fans stunned at the thought that the "30 Rock" star has already passed away in line with the tragic accident he recently got involved in. However, the actor-comedian's spokesman has finally addressed the issue and slammed reports that Tracy Morgan is dead with an update saying the actor is now in fair condition.
Hours after the New Jersey highway accident, it was reported that "Saturday Night Live" alum Tracy Morgan was badly injured and in critical condition at a hospital. This even led a couple of sites to come up with misleading reports that made fans believe that Morgan has died when in fact it was his fellow comedian James McNair who unfortunately got killed out of the incident.
On Monday, however, Morgan's spokesman, Lewis Kay, revealed that his status has now upgraded from critical to fair condition. "His personality is certainly starting to come back as well," Kay added.
The 45-year-old comedian has reportedly suffered from broken ribs and a broken leg in the June 7 highway crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. Other individuals involved in the crash were seriously injured as well.
According to court documents, prosecutors have said that Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper's vehicle crashed into Morgan's limo.
Roper, a resident of Jonesboro, Georgia, has pleaded not guilty to the charges pressed against him following the death by auto of McNair and the assault by auto charges of the other victims including Tracy Morgan.
Meanwhile, a criminal complaint maintained that Roper may have not slept for more than 24 hours prior to the accident when he swerved to avoid the slowed traffic on the turnpike, plowing Morgan's limo in the process.
Wal-Mart has not clarified Roper's driving route since, but documents said the Jonesboro man was working in compliance with federal safety regulations.
Hospital officials added recently that Morgan's assistant Jeffrey Millea has been upgraded to fair condition as well while comedian Ardie Fuqua remains in critical condition.
