Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain, has slammed "West Coast" singer Lana Del Rey, who released her 2014 album "Ultraviolence" album recently, for wishing that she were dead already, Huffington Post has learned.
Be careful what you wish for Lana Del Rey because death by publicity is something you don't really want to happen to you. Good thing, Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, is here to talk some sense into you.
In a June 12 write-up published by The Guardian, Lana Del Rey may have gone too far when she associated early death with glamour, citing her heroes Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse's cases to defend her claim.
As though that wasn't shocking enough, the "Ultraviolence" singer dropped another bomb when she said, "I wish I was already dead." When the interviewer challenged her if she's telling the truth, Del Rey quickly responded with: "I do! I don't want to have to keep doing this. But I am."
Now, it's time for someone to talk some senses into the 28-year-old singer, and that someone has to be Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, who - on Sunday - engaged into a Twitter rant to echo her thoughts on Del Rey's scandalous statements.
The daughter of the former Nirvana frontman warned the "West Coast" singer that "the death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize."
The series of tweets Cobain posted went as follows:
"I'll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it's cool."
"Well, it's fucking not. Embrace life, because u only get one life. The ppl u mentioned wasted that life. Don't be 1 of those ppl."
"Ur too talented to waste it away."
Though Frances Bean Cobain obviously wanted only what's best for Lana Del Rey, it seems that the "Ultraviolence" singer's fans stared to defend her from the online slamming from Kurt's girl.
"Holy shit leave her the fuck alone. everyone wants to die sometimes, she was havibg (sic) a bad day she took it back," a Zoe wrote.
Fortunately, Frances knew how to defend herself, so she quickly responded, saying: "I told her to not waste her life. How is that attacking. I literally said embrace this life because you only get 1."
To clarify her intentions further, Frances echoed a meaningful message on Twitter.
"I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put thinks (sic) in perspective from personal experience," Cobain concluded.
