The Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G3 are two of the best flagship smartphones from two of the biggest Korean brands. The devices may be comparable in most if not all of the things they sport and offer, but one is absolutely ahead in the smartphone techie competition. The LG G3 may have arrived two months later than the Samsung Galaxy S5, giving it more time to cook more features and prepare more tricks under its sleeves. Samsung is indeed one of the trendiest smartphone companies to date. On the other hand, LG seems to be deviating from following Apple's path and has instead continued with its move to enhance its latest flagship device's display and processor. Hence, for people who want the fingerprint scanning technology, the S5 is the winner for this round, but for those who are still apprehensive in getting a device that sports this kind of technology and is all advanced in other aspects, the LG G3 is the one for keeps.
Other cool features and specs that make the Samsung Galaxy S5 stand out over the LG G3 include the Ingress protection feature against dust, the special built-in heart rate monitor that works hand-in-hand with the heart monitoring pre-installed app, the Bluetooth v.30 compared to the G3 v2.0, and the IR Blaster that is for some reason not included in the advanced trappings of the LG G3.

Although we have already given credit to Samsung Galaxy S5's display when it comes to contrast and sunlight legibility, there is no denying that the LG G3 takes pride on its much detailed display. After all the QHD display it sports flaunts a very top-of-the-line resolution of 1440 x 2560, which translates to 538 pixels per inch. In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy S5 packs the standard super HD display found in many flagship devices from other companies. With its 1080 x 1920 resolution or 432 pixels per inch, the Galaxy S5 is behind by a lot of pixels from LG G3's true-to-life screen display. The catch however is that users cannot really tell the difference between the two unless they are placed side-by-side in a dim room. The color accuracy of LG G3's screen is just more spot-on than that of the S5.
Display-wise, if one wants a smartphone with bigger screen size, the LG G3 is the better pick. The 5.5" QHD display of this device is everything but average. Users will find it a joy to use in gaming or in just using the smartphone to view photos and videos. The QHD display compliments the screen size so that every detail is not missed in just a single glance. Plus, with its improved low-light laser-assisted auto focusing, the G3 can give users longer hours of entertainment without the burden of eye-straining. When it comes to over-all performance, the LG G3 has the edge with its updated Snapdragon 801 chipset. Though both processors from the two flagship devices arte clocked at 2.5 GHz, it is still highly notable that the chipset found in the G3 can run more simultaneous apps smoothly than the Samsung Galaxy S5.
In terms of memory, the LG G3 boasts a built-in 32GB memory while the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with two variants: 16GB and 32GB. The deal-breaker between the two though is found in their RAM. While the LG G3 sports 3GB of RAM the Samsung Galaxy S5 only comes with 2GB, which is quite unusual for the latest flagship device from Samsung.
Finally, the best reason to choose the LG G3 over the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the battery. The LG G3 comes with a 3,000mAh removable battery while the Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 2,800mAh removable battery. For people who want bigger and longer battery life, this feature gives the LG G3 the best reason for one to consider it over the S5. Nevertheless, both smartphones come with battery-monitoring and saving apps that can certainly alter the batt-life of these smartphones to the maximum. Plus, since both are removable, bringing in a spare battery isn't that much of a hassle for these two.
