Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan confirmed that 2K Sports will release special edition copies of the highly-anticipated WWE 2K15 video game.
Gameranx first reported the development when Hulk Hogan himself confirmed the previously-rumored special edition, which will reportedly bear an image of the WWE legend.
Hogan was asked by one gamer if he will be included in the game, and then he responded by saying that he has already signed 3,000 pictures that will be used in the special version of the upcoming wrestling video game, while also adding that he is set to sign a total of 25,000 pictures.
Examiner reported that the unique features of the premium edition will be based around Hogan, similar to what the developer did when they released the Phenom Edition of the WWE 2K14 last year.
"The WWE 2K15 special edition will most likely be based around Hulk Hogan in terms of physical and digital extras. The WWE 2K14 Phenom Edition, for example, came with a controller skin, DVD, tin case along with in-game extras that were created for The Undertaker. Last year's premium product managed to sell out quickly," Examiner noted.
Hogan is among the short list of characters that were already confirmed for the upcoming game along with Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, and John Cena, who was recently named as the WWE 2K15 cover superstar.
In a recent interview, Cena expressed how proud he is after being unveiled as the cover superstar, which puts him in the level of sporting greats that 2K Sports previously featured in their games.
"It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as the 'WWE 2K15' cover Superstar. 2K has a tremendous history of sports simulation games and cover athletes, including Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and of course, Dwayne The Rock Johnson," Cena said in a statement. "I look forward to carrying the flag for WWE 2K15 and introducing the incredible next-generation of WWE gaming to the WWE Universe."
Chris Snyder, 2K Vice President of Marketing, expressed confidence that picking Cena as the cover superstar will work wonders for them in terms of sales once WWE 2K15 hits the market on October 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
