Alison Sweeney's husband has always been private and reclusive from the media, leaving the spotlight for his wife alone. So much so that he may have had limited time to spend with his wife on a daily basis given Sweeney's commitments to her TV shows. But now that the television actress and reality show host has decided to leave "Days of Our Lives" for good, it appears that they will be having more time to enjoy with each other and their kids as well.
So who is the lucky guy everyone calls Alison Sweeney's husband? Zimbio says it's David Sanov, who has once appeared on Sweeney's hit NBC soap opera.
While several reports claim that Alison Sweeney's husband and the "Biggest Loser" host met on the set of "Days of Our Lives," Alison isn't shy to admit that she has been smitten by Sanov since they were in kindergarten.
"My husband and I have known each other since kindergarten. I had a crush on him in school, but we never dated. Then we saw each other again after high school, and there was something instantly familiar about him. I'm a very shy person and was very closed off. But he allowed me to be myself. And there's safety in that," Sweeney was once quoted by RedBook mag.
That time, Alison also gushed about enjoying a normal life with her husband and kids: Ben, 7, and Megan, 3.
"Thank god my life is normal. I work hard to make it normal. My husband and I don't want Hollywood drama. I go to the market and do the dishes. I'm not treated differently because I work on TV. [Sweeney's 7-year-old son] Ben only recently realized I was somewhat famous. He Googled me," she said.
And it seems that the couple indeed delights over the normal couple's life. They go on dates every now and then to keep the fire burning, and they are frequently spotted going out together when Sweeney's not that busy with work.
Meanwhile, Alison Sweeney, who recently revealed that she's leaving "Days of Our Lives" after being with the show for nearly 21 years now, gushed about her life following her departure.
"It feels crazy," she told People. "I'm like, 'I think I'll go work out.' It's whatever I want to do right now."
For now, aside from hosting "The Biggest Loser" Sweeney is busy working on her novels and relishing the time she now has to spend with her husband and kids.
"Ben would wake up really early just so he could have breakfast with me before I went to work, and that sat with me. I'd like to be there for them and not feel like I have nine other things going on," she said of her son.
"They were jumping up and down," Sanov chimed in of when his kids heard the news. "They don't watch Days but knowing the character of 'Mom' will actually be taking them to school in the mornings is super cool."
Alison Sweeney's husband and the television personality tied the knot on July 8, 2000.
