NBA Free Agents Rumors: Will Kevin Durant Join the Washington Wizards? John Wall Wants to Play With Reigning MVP

The Washington Wizards are reportedly planning to make a strong push to sign Kevin Durant when the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar becomes a free agent in 2016.

Durant recently commended LeBron James for his decision to return home and sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers, creating speculations that the reigning Most Valuable Player could make his own homecoming in 2016.

In a recent interview, Durant, a Washington native, admitted that he has been asked and has been hearing about talks about a possible move to the Wizards in the summer of 2016.

Durant, who averaged 32.0 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game last season, reiterated that he is still committed to the Thunder, but he added that he is not closing his doors on any possibility.

"Look, I'm here in OKC. I love it here," Durant said via FanSided. "Who knows what'll happen? You never can close a door on anything, but I like where I'm at right now. I can't answer those questions. That whole city is a part of me. It's in my blood. I love going back home, seeing my family & playing there but I love OKC, too."

Durant reiterated that he will do what he think is best for him, saying that he will not let others influence his decision or do what other players did before him - possibly referring to James' decision to return home.

"I'm going to do what's best for me," Durant said via NBA.com. "It's hard to talk about that right now when I've got two years left in Oklahoma City. I'm just going to focus on that. I'm not going to make a decision based on what anybody else does."

Wizards point guard John Wall is aware of the talks about Durant's possible homecoming in 2016, and the All-Star is thrilled about the possibility, saying that it will make the Eastern Conference interesting with Durant and James going head-to-head several times in a season.

"It's not a bad (idea) at all," Wall said via USA Today. "Two of the best guys in the East going head to head four times a year? It'd be pretty exciting. You just sit back and watch and see what happens, but (the Wizards' Durant-motivated moves) definitely let him know that we want him around."
