Zoe Saldana and Britney Spears have become the best of friends since they co-starred on the "Sometimes" hit maker's massive hit film "Crossroads."
Thus, when Saldana was made to answer some issues involving the former Disney child star, the "Colombiana" actress just couldn't help but defend her friend from all of her bashers and critics.
Saldana (born Zoe Yadira Saldaña Nazario) stopped by at "Watch What Happens Live" on Thursday to promote her latest movie, but things took a different turn when Britney Spears' name was brought up.
Zoe Saldana said she still has a "huge amount of respect for Britney Spears," adding, "She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who literally was humble."
The "Avatar" actress even gushed to Andy Cohen that Spears is just all positive energy.
"I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she's definitely an abundance of that," she said.
It's more than a decade ago since Zoe Saldana and Britney Spears co-starred on the Shonda Rimes-penned comedy that grossed $61.1 million worldwide amid negative reviews, but the two have remained good friends over time.
It is not surprising then that when a caller brought up the issue about Britney Spears' auto-tuned leaked version of her 2013 hit "Alien," Saldana defended the total performer wholeheartedly.
"That's mean" Saldana said of the leak. "I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without auto-tune."
She then went on to defend her friend saying, "She was the only pop star at that time - and I can name a lot of prominent figures right now that today are more famous than Britney - that literally got to where they were at by hating on Britney a lot. Because it was cool at one time to really just diss her. And Britney never did that."
Saldana isn't the only one who's been defending Spears from all the bad publicity.
"Alien" producer William Orbit also stood up for the "Circus" singer saying that the leaked version was just a vocal warm-up and not the final take.
