Andrew Wiggins is still facing uncertainty about his rookie season as reports continue to suggest that the 2014 first overall pick will likely end up with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Reports indicated that the Cleveland Cavaliers offered Andrew Wiggins along with Anthony Bennett and future first-round pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love.
For a typical rookie, Wiggins' situation could be lead to a huge confidence blow, but the former Kansas standout said that the uncertainty surrounding his future in Cleveland is not too tough as he already made himself ready for any eventuality.
"It hasn't been too tough,' Wiggins said via New York Post. "You have to prepare yourself for it, and then it isn't too tough. You just have to get used to everything."
In an interview with ESPN's SportsCenter, Wiggins added that he is not taking Cleveland's action "personal", knowing that NBA is a business, while also insisting the he just want to play in a team where he is wanted.
"I just want to play for a team that wants me. So whichever team wants me I'll play for," Wiggins lamented via ESPN.
"At the end of the day you have to remember that the NBA is a business before anything. I'm a rookie. I really don't have too much say," he added.
Wiggins was a lock to become one of the Cavaliers cornerstones before LeBron James decided to return to Cleveland. Interestingly, Wiggins, who was not mentioned in James' famous letter, said that he has yet to talk to the four-time Most Valuable Player.
"No. I'm sure he's busy," Wiggins said when asked if James has already approached him. "I feel like I'm busy, so I am sure he's busy."
James made it no secret that he wants to play with Love. The superstar forward is intrigued by Wiggins' potential, but he prefers playing with a proven star like Love, who also expressed interest in teaming up with James.
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor recently made a striking statement, saying that he expects Love to be traded on Aug. 23 or 24. Wiggins will be available in trades starting Aug. 23, creating speculations that the Cavaliers and the Timberwolves already have a deal in place for Love.
