Casey Kasem's dead body still remains unburied two months after the late disc jockey and voice actor passed away.
Born Kernal Amen "Casey" Kasem, the renowned radio personality who lent his voice to Scooby-Doo's Shaggy Rogers passed away on June 15. However, to this day, Casey Kasem's body is still far from being six feet under due to the bitter family feud between his second wife and his grown kids.
According to earlier reports, Casey Kasem's dead body was handed to his wife "Cheers" star Jean Kasem after a legal deliberation on whether the voice actor's second wife or his kids will be put in charge of the burial.
On Friday, it was revealed that Jean has submitted a written request to the government of Norway that Casey Kasem's dead body be buried in the capital of Oslo, to the disappointment of the late actor's adult children - Kerri, 42, Mike, 40, and Julie, 39.
"My heritage on my mother's side is Norwegian and I plan to move to Norway by the end of this year," she added. "Therefore, I would also like to be near my husband's resting place so my daughter and I could visit him often."
Jean's decision comes amid a legal family feud that started when the actress was granted the rights to handling the radio legend's care prior to his demise.
However, a judge later on appointed, Kasem's eldest, Kerr, to take care of the ailing radio personality and even implement end-of-life measures for her father.
Oslo's Managing Director of Funeral Service Wenche Elizabeth Maden Eriksson already confirmed that Jean's request to bury Casey Kasem's dead body there has already been granted.
Amid the preparations in transporting Casey Kasem's dead body to Norway, his children claim that they still do not have any idea where their father's remains are as of late.
"We don't know if he's in Norway or if he is in Montreal," Kasem's children's rep, Danny Deraney, said. "I don't think Casey has ever been to Norway. I do know that Casey wanted to buried at Forest Lawn in Glendale [near Los Angeles] and not in in Norway."
"It's her dad," Deraney said about Kerri. "You have a famous dad whose body is being treated like a joke."
Jean Kasem has not personally commented on the issue as of late, but before she decided to request the burial of Casey Kasem's dead body in Oslo, Norway, she previously said that she is planning to have it buried in Montreal, Canada.
