Purported nude photos of Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lawrence went viral online in a massive photo leak on Sunday, which also involved more than 100 celebrities.
Grande became the main subject of controversy as several photos quickly spread on different social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook, showing the popular singer in seductive poses.
Hollywood Life reported that Grande's nude photos were first posted on Sunday with Buzzfeed reporting that the images came from a post on 4chan. The uploader of the images allegedly obtained the controversial photos by hacking celebrities' phone, taking advantage of a reportedly glitch on Apple's iCloud.
Grande took to Twitter to deny that the photos were authentic and wrote: "hell nah.... praying for the people who believed that was me lmaoo... my petite ass is much cuter than that."
The 21-year-old recording star was also involved in a similar controversy earlier this year as naked images showing Grande also went viral in March. However, it was also denied by Grande and was later confirmed as some sort of an early "April Fool's Day" prank.
Jennifer Lawrence also made headlines for an undesirable reason as several photos of her - some fully naked and some showing him wearing almost nothing - also made waves on the web.
The alleged hacker even claimed that he has more than 60 nude photos of the Oscar-winning actress and hot videos, which were taken in different locations.
Unlike Grande, Lawrence's camp sounded like the images were authentic. The actress' spokesperson was quoted by TMZ as saying: "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
Aside from Grande and Lawrence, big stars like Kate Upton, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna were also involved in the hacking. Mirror UK has the full list of Hollywood stars, who have controversial images.
American actress and recording artist Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whose name appears on the list, confirmed that the naked photos of her are authentic.
"Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked," Winstead posted on Twitter. "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves."
Upton's attorney also confirmed that the photos of his client are real through an e-mail, saying: "This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton's privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."
