The K-Pop domain was shocked as the Ladies' Code singer EunB died in a tragic accident early Wednesday. The whole K-Pop world is deeply mourning for the sudden loss of the singer.
On September 3, news broke out about the famous K-Pop girl group Ladies' Code who was involved in an awful car accident early morning on their way to Seoul after the van containing the girls and their entourage had crashed into a guardrail on the freeway and its back wheel fall off. The tragic incident caused the sudden death of the 22-year old member, EunB's life per reports.
Other passengers, including members of the group and their support staff were hospitalized. A police investigation is currently ongoing on the cause of the accident.
Ladies' Code was a Korean girl group formed by Polaris Entertainment in 2013. The group consists of leader Ashley with members RiSe, Sojung, Zuny, and EunB. They made their debut with the mini-album Code 01 and the lead track "Bad Girl", which was released on March 7, 2013. On September 3, 2014, member EunB died in a car accident which also left Sojung and Rise with serious injuries.
Ladies' Code tragic accident caused the death of one of its members, EunB, while the remaining six were injured and rushed to the hospital. Two of the group's members Sojung and Rise were listed under critical condition. Ladies' Code Sojung has reportedly in a stabilized condition while Rise remained to be in critical condition after undergoing emergency brain surgery.
The Ladies' Code label, Polaris Entertainment released an official statement regarding the accident. It was stated that the group were returning to Seoul from a schedule in Daegu and at around Suwon, the back tire of the car fell out and due to the rainy conditions, the car skidded and crashed into the protective wall.
After the news broke out, local media probed whether the schedules of the Ladies' Code should change. Music experts shared their sentiments saying that with the new acts constantly popping out, performers strived to achieve fame and are often under pressure to work more hours to maximize exposure and revenues at the expense of sleep and rest. The accident also highlighted South Korea's poor road safety record. The World Health Organization reportedly say that the country had 14.1 road traffic deaths per 100,000 people in 2010, the second highest following Mexico among the countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an association for the world's highly developed economies.
Numerous fans and followers on the social media paid tribute to EunB, Ladies' Code member who died on the accident.
