After the infamous Chucky scare, this fall of 2014, another movie villain will cause frantic fright among its viewers. It is not a monster, a witch or a serial killer but it is a porcelain doll named Annabelle. Tagged as fall's scariest horror movie villain, in the film we'll see how petrifying and perilous demonic dolls can be.
Annabelle gained popularity after it was featured in the horror movie The Conjuring in 2013. It had a supporting part on the film which was an evil kid's toy. But this 2014, Annabelle will be featured on its own full-length film.
An American supernatural horror movie this 2014, Annabelle is directed by John R. Leonetti. It is both a derivative and a prelude to The Conjuring. The film features Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton and Alfre Woodard. It was released globally on October 3, 2014. The movie is based on a true story that was also investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren and the case of Annabelle was covered in chapter three of The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren by Gerard Brittle.
Annabelle Movie 2014 depicted the plot where a husband found a perfect gift for both his pregnant wife and their unborn child. Annabelle is a stunning and rare antiquated porcelain doll in a pure white wedding dress. Unluckily, the family's glee with the doll was just ephemeral. On one dreadful night, their home is attacked by satanic cult members, who pugnaciously bout the husband and wife. Trickled blood and trepidation are not what they leave behind. The cultists have summoned an entity, which is so wicked that nothing they did will compare to the ominous channel to death that is now Annabelle.
On the set of the 2014 movie, Annabelle, director John R. Leonetti revealed that some paranormal occurrences might have actually transpired. He said, "The first incident was when we were prepping. We went into the apartment where we were shooting, and in the transient window above the living room window. It was a full moon, and there were three fingers drawn through the dust along the window, and our demon has three fingers and three talons. The markings were being backlit by the moon. I have a picture! It was sick."
The Conjuring's producer Peter Safran also detailed some supernatural instances that possibly occurred on the set of Annabelle movie this 2014. He said that when they shot in an astonishing, old apartment building near Koreatown and they had some funky stuff go down. He added that the first day that the demon was shooting in full makeup; they brought the demon up in the elevator. He continued, "He walks out and walks around to the green room to where we're holding the talent, and just as he walks under - a giant glass light fixture is being followed by the actor playing the handyman of the building - and all of a sudden the entire glass light fixture falls down on his head, the janitor's head. And in the script the demon kills the janitor in that hallway. It was totally freaky."
Annabelle was projected to gross over $25-$27 million on its opening week, however the movie only grossed $20-$22 million at the end of the week. Released on October 3, 2014 in over 3,000 theatres in North America, Annabelle earned $2.1 million from Thursday night showings.
Critics have mixed reviews about the fall's scariest movie villain this 2014. Some said that it was a remarkable horror film but some says it flunked. Negative critiques pointed out that Child's Play's Chucky is much more frightening that Annabelle.
