Recent reports indicated that Sting and Undertaker might collide in one of the featured matches at Wrestlemania 31, but will the highly anticipated bout happen next year?
Sting said in a recent interview that he expects a match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31 despite the fact that 'Taker' looks done for the yearly spectacle after his long streak was broken by Brock Lesnar earlier this year.
Sting pointed out that he did not have any doubt that the match will happen despite the fact that Undertaker lost in his previous Wrestlemania appearance.
"I did have a moment of 'aww, it's over, I'll never be able to get in the ring with 'Taker'. But because he lost doesn't mean that he's done or leaving," Sting said via Inquistr. "You know, I can't imagine 'Taker leaving or being done, I just cannot imagine that. I don't know what's going on with him for sure but man, I think 'Taker vs. Sting doesn't need a streak storyline; we just need 'Taker and Sting and that's it."
According to reports, Sting is already preparing for his WWE debut with Reddit user MetsFan4Ever saying that one WWE insider confirmed that the wrestling icon will make his first appearance in WWE, which will the start of his road to Wrestlemania 31.
"As we noted last week, Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, who appears to be a verified WWE insider, as he/she has broken WWE related news in the past, is claiming Sting might be on WWE TV around late January," the source told Wrestlezone. "This could be a sign that Sting will finally debut when the road to Wrestlemania 31 kicks off."
But while most fans are already anticipating an Undertaker-Sting match next year as WWE is reportedly advertising the event, but sources indicated that the fight might not happen at all because of questions about the WWE and Wrestlemania legend's health after sustaining injuries in his loss to Lesnar.
"The WWE is also already advertising The Undertaker for Wrestlemania 31 on the side of their touring bus, but it's still possible it won't happen based upon the current health of Mark Calaway," Inquistr noted. "The Undertaker did admit that his injuries from Brock Lesnar were so severe that he doesn't recall the details of the match."
