Formula 1 News Jules Bianchi Injury - F1 driver Jules Bianchi is out of surgery and is reportedly breathing on his own after a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 25-years old Marussia driver lost control, aquaplaning off track at turn 7 at Suzuka, and ran into a recovery vehicle where he suffered a severe head injury.
The Frenchman was said to be unconscious after the crash as he didn't respond to any Marussia radio calls. He was later rushed via ambulance to the Mie General Hospital, which is located nearby.
Although there has been no official statement from the Hospital on his health, unconfirmed reports indicate that Bianchi is recovering well and has been moved to the intensive care unit.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was declared winner of the Japanese Grand Prix which was characterized by heavy downpours caused by the incoming Typhoon Phanfone - set to hit the island country tomorrow.
Following the FIA's announcement of Bianchi's health after the accident, many drivers and lovers of the sport have expressed regrets over incident and his injury.
"It is obviously a real anti-climax to hear one of our colleagues is seriously injured. That is the main worry," Hamilton told reporters after being judged the fastest on the tracks.
The race in Japan was red-flagged several times before eventually being called off after heavy rains made it almost impossible for drivers to race safely.
However, despite the bad weather and Bianchi's accident, three time world champion, Nlki Lauda, did not think the race should have been called off.
Lauda, who suffered a serious injury in 1976 during a German Grand Prix, was quoted by the BBC saying "we always have to be aware that motor racing is very dangerous and this accident is a coming together of various difficult things."
