The all-new season of CW's Arrow promises a more exciting storyline than ever. Apart from the action-packed aspect of the series, the romantic side will also be one of the interesting things to watch out for this season. Oliver and Felicity are expected to engage into a romantic date amid all the raging battles this season and despite the fact that Batman villain Ra's al Ghul will be terrorizing the city. Additionally, a crossover between Arrow and Flash is also bound to take place when things get too intense in Starling City. More DC Comic characters are also set to appear this season, but we're not sure yet whether all of them will be villains. Catch the premiere episode of the superhero-themed series tonight. Show executive producer Marc Guggenheim gushed to IGN recently about the Arrow and Flash crossover episode, "It's so friggin awesome!" He then continued, saying, "I have to say, I never had so much fun writing a script before; maybe in my life. It was such a blast to work on. We're filming the Arrow half of it, the Arrow episode, right now. It's just so much fun." Interestingly, Guggenheim has shared his advice to everyone involved in the series, "We should try for Avengers. These two heroes together. Big production value. We're blowing out the doors on this." So what can fans and new viewers expect from the premiere episode of Arrow Season 3? Guggenheim says, "I feel like this episode's a really good jumping-off point for new viewers. We sort of closed a chapter at the end of season two, and this is a brand new opening. I don't really think there's anything you really need to know coming into it. It's pretty new-viewer friendly. That wasn't necessarily by design, it just happened to work out that way because of the story we were telling."
The official synopsis of Arrow season 3 episode 1 reads: "With crime in Starling City at an all-time low thanks to the Arrow and his team, Oliver thinks he can finally balance being both the Arrow and Oliver Queen and asks Felicity out on a date. However, when a new villain emerges, who has claimed the name Vertigo from the recently deceased Count, Oliver is caught off-guard and someone close to him is hurt. Oliver and a newly suited up Roy take on the Count. Meanwhile, Diggle becomes a father, Lance is promoted to Captain, Laurel joins Arrow's inner circle and Felicity gets a part-time job at a tech store to make ends meet. Also, Oliver fights to regain his company, Queen Consolidated, but comes up against a very worthy opponent - the charming Ray Palmer."
Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity, Colton Haynes as Roy, David Ramsey as Diggle, Paul Blackthorne as Lance, Katie Cassidy as Laurel. Brandon Routh also stars as Ray Palmer and Peter Stormare guest stars as the new villain.
