An ambush suspects chilling writings about his attacks revealed by the Pennsylvania police on Wednesday is expected to assist the authorities apprehend the elusive man.
Reports indicate that the journal described in cold-blooded details how the suspect planned and ambushed a State Police barracks. It also states how he killed police officer Corporal Bryon K. Dickson II, and left another officer Alex Douglass seriously injured.
Col. George Bivens gave the following extract from the suspect Eric Ferin's journal "Friday, September 12, got a shot around 11pm, he dropped. I was surprised at how quick."
He continued detailing how he finally killed Corporal Dickson II. "I took a follow-up shot in his head and neck area. He was still and quiet after that."
"Another cop approached the one I just shot. As he went to kneel, I took a shoot at him, one jumped in the door. His legs were visible and still."
Reports indicate that a police dragnet found the diary at a campsite used by the fugitive, who is on the run from both federal and state authorities.
The diary was found among other things belonging to Ferin. On September 29th, the police also found food, water, cloths, explosives and other arms belong to the run-away suspect.
Ferin is reported to have penned how he managed to escape after the attack, describing his getaway as a "disaster". He wrote that his first thoughts of escape was getting into a nearby jeep, he later changed his mind and headed for the swamps.
Col. George Bivens, who read passages of the ambush suspect's chilling writing, described Ferin's thoughts as pure evil." According to him, it is a "cold-blooded and absolutely chilling account" of the ambush that happened on September 12, 2014.
The police have described Ferin as a trained marksman and survivalist with an axe to grind against the law. He has been on the run for about 26 days now.
Local sources say numerous police officers have been hunting for him in Canadensis, where his parent's residence is located in the Pocono Mountains.
As the ambush suspect's chilling writings were made public, Col. Biven assured reporters and the public of the police's commitment to apprehend Ferin and bring him to book for his crimes. "We will get Ferin. Whether that is today, whether that is tomorrow or whether that is next week, remains to be seen," he said.
