Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri Predictions: Trainer Likes Algieri’s Chances Against ‘Pacman’ But Freddie Roach Disagrees

Chris Algieri's trainer Keith Trimble believes that his fighter has a good chance of pulling off an upset against Manny Pacquiao in their 12-round title fight on November 22 at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China.

Trimble said in an interview with Rich Mazon of PhilBoxing that Algieri has been performing well and working hard in their training sessions over the past several months, saying that the unbeaten champion is now ready to fight more than a month before the scheduled bout.

"It's great. He is right on point. He is in shape like usual. He is fast, strong. He is good to go," Trimble said of Algieri, who is now in Las Vegas for the second part of his preparation for the biggest fight of his career.

Trimble also added that Algieri has already started his sparring sessions. And based from what he saw, the trainer said that it seems like Algieri has not taken a rest since winning against Ruslan Provodnikov in June because his timing and rhythm is still there.

"He sparred three times. It is good. It is like we just left off from his last fight," Trimble added. "After the first sparring session, his timing is there. He's already getting there. He did six rounds each time with no problem. Like I said again, his conditioning is never an issue."

But on the other hand, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach is confident that his prized fighter will easily dispatch Algieri, saying that the 30-year-old has good boxing skills, but is biting more than he can chew.

"He's got a good jab, he's left handed, he's got a good jab and a good hook. His right hand is not so good," Roach said via ABS-CBN News. "I honestly think he's in over his head a little bit."

Roach insisted that that Algieri doesn't belong to the same level as Pacquiao, saying that the Filipino boxing icon will be too much for the Huntington, New York native.

"I think Manny is gonna be way too much for him," Roach said of Pacquiao, who will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight title. "I think Manny can make (the fight) as hard or as easy as he wants to make it."
