Jamie Dornan Interview: Is ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Actor Ready To Become Hollywood’s Next Big Thing?

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast returned for a film reshoot in Vancouver on Monday. As the highly-anticipated film is set to be released next year, will Jamie Dornan be ready to become Hollywood's next big thing? In several interviews, Dornan opened up about his life before and after he becomes the infamous "Christian Grey."

Jamie Dornan is a 32-year-old Northern Irish actor, model and musician. He was widely recognized as Sheriff Graham Humbert in the ABC series "Once Upon A Time" and serial killer Paul Spector in the BBC Two crime drama series "The Fall." Dornan is married to English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner with whom he has a daughter.

On Oct. 23, 2013, Jamie Dornan was cast to portray the titular character of Christian Grey in the feature film adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Because of this, Dornan is foreseen to be become Hollywood's next best thing, but will he be ready?

In a British Vogue interview, Jamie Dornan shared about his life before and after the anticipated big-screen adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." The model-turned-actor has spent 10 years as one of the sought-after models; however, Dornan didn't consider those days mostly well spent.

"I will always think of myself during that time less as being a relatively successful model, more of a failed actor because I was failing every week," Jamie Dornan explained during his interview. "There is a certain stigma attached to the whole thing of model-turned-actor. I was always quite a reluctant model, to my agent's annoyance. I was never hugely keen on it or doing it, and in a weird way I didn't do a great deal of it."

Dornan added that modeling happened to be jobs that ended on the side, but it wasn't consuming at all. He also admitted that he had never done a catwalk show in his life.

"I'm not ungrateful. I enjoy working with certain photographers, and having a bit of [fun] and catching up," Jamie Dornan told British Vogue during his interview. "But the actual thing of having to stand looking all moody and looking off in the distance and, 'Let's just do a couple with a finger round your mouth...' I'd rather be playing football."

Jamie Dornan also opened up during his conversation with the magazine that he wasn't a ladies' man while growing up. He said that he didn't do particularly well with girls at school. He revealed that he was very shy and just didn't do well with them.

During his British Vogue interview, Jamie Dornan was also asked about his wife, Amelia Warner and their daughter, whom the couple had welcomed just a few months ago. He said that his wife is "dream stuff" and that he loves fatherhood. He then added that they were enjoying it.

While thankful of having been given the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, ET Canada reported that Jamie Dornan isn't persuaded he's prepared for the resulting media frenzy following the film.

"I'm not sure you can be," the Jamie Dornan confessed on his British Vogue interview. "If it's a nightmare, we'll move to Outer Mongolia or something, live in a yurt. I've got a lot of sh*t together, finally, by age 32. I'm glad I have that all in place when whatever happens, happens."

According to a report by International Business Times, Jamie Dornan was not just wary about the imminent fame but he also admitted on an interview of his recent dislike to nude scenes, which are quite significant on the film adaptation.

"I'm sick of it. Sick of it," Jamie Dornan said. The Mirror UK stated that the "Fifty Shades" actor also revealed that shooting sexy scenes with costar Dakota Johnson was strange but he had no problem getting intimate on camera. "I'm not really fearful of that stuff. It's just work. It's strange work, sure, but it's still work. I just get on with it," Dornan admitted.

So with the upcoming success and popularity of the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey," will Jamie Dornan be Hollywood's next best thing? Well, let's find out.
