Missy Elliott, who has not been seen publicly since late June, showed off her new figure. Several reports said that she lost 70 pounds this 2014. Her weight loss is evident despite her baggy sweatshirt and her face was strikingly slimmed down. However, Elliott is really proud of her slimmer figure when she posted her photo on social media site, Twitter.

"Just got off stage thanks @ALEXANDERWANGNY and @hmusa for having me perform I enjoyed," Missy Elliot posted.

According to Us Weekly, Missy Elliott appeared enthusiastic and blissful when she took the stage at the Fort Washington Avenue Armory on Oct. 16, 2014. She got the audience on their feet when she performed her famous hits "Get Ur Freak On," "Work It," and "Lose Control."

Missy Elliott's major breakthrough came as a songwriter with childhood friend and producer Timbaland on projects for Aaliyah, Total, SWV and 702. She also collaborated with music icons Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson as a record producer and songwriter. She also worked with several contemporary artists.

Missy Elliott expanded her career as a solo artist and rapper in the late '90s. She has earned five Grammy Awards and has sold over 30 million records in the United States. As of 2014, Missy Elliott is the only female rapper to have six albums certified by the Recording Industry Association of America or RIAA.

E! News reported that Missy Elliott has not yet revealed the reason for her remarkable weight loss. But she has been committed to a healthy lifestyle since she was diagnosed with Grave's disease in 2008. This 2014, Elliott has put added emphasis on the significance of diet and exercise to her much healthier lifestyle.

According to People, Missy Elliott has comprehensively shared her fight with Grave's disease, an autoimmune illness which affects the thyroid and with symptoms like weight loss.

"You live with it for the rest of your life," Missy Elliott previously told People.

After Missy Elliott's success and superstardom in the late '90s, she stayed mostly out of the public's attention since 2008 until 2011 to concentrate on her health. During that time, she underwent radiation treatments combined with medication.

"I feel great... I'm completely managing the condition through diet and exercise," Elliott told Us Weekly in 2011.

But this 2014, Missy Elliott is definitely making a comeback. The singer-rapper is also healthier than ever.
