Country singer Dustin Lynch was injured in the face and needed stitches after someone threw a full can of beer at him while he performed before a Florida crowd.
The 29-years-old was struck in the head while singing his cover of Garth Brook's Friends in Low Places at the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival, which was held in Niceville, Florida on Saturday.
"It was a completely full can and it felt like a baseball had it me," Dustin told People magazine.
Reports indicate that despite an injury that left blood dripping slightly above his cheekbone, the singer refused to stop performing.
After the show Dustin Lynch made light of his injured face saying "we finished the show out like we always do. It was just a little bloodier than usual".
The video of Dustin Lynch's injury has gone viral on social media. Many fans have meanwhile sent their well wishes to the singer and praised that fact that he did not end the show.
"On my way to the hospital for few stitches, I'll be okay," he tweeted shortly after the show.
The singer went to thank the fans who showed their concerns. "I appreciate all of you. FYI the guy who hit me with a beer can got away," the Where It's At singer revealed.
Despite the fact that TMZ has posted a video of the incident which led to Dustin Lynch's injury, and the singer has made attempts to apprehend the culprit, the offender is yet to be found.
"It's not cool. This guy caused an incident that almost ruined a great night."
Dustin Lynch went on to praise the Niceville audience, "The crowd was insanely loud and supportive and that's why I wanted to finish my show (despite the bleeding)", he revealed.
