Woman stuck in chimney of California home: A woman stuck in chimney of California home that she tried to break into has been arrested by the police after firefighters spent hours rescuing her.
Reports indicate that Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, 30, attempted to sneak into the house of a man she had met online on Sunday when she got trapped. Neighbors, in the Woodside Drive in Thousand neighborhood, reportedly heard Ms. Figueroa cries for help and contacted the authorities about a woman stuck in chimney of California home.
The police responded immediately to the scene and firefighters were subsequently contacted to free the woman stuck in chimney of California home. Up to 10 firefighters are reported to have attempted to rescue Ms. Figueroa by carefully chiseling away a large part of the chimney and afterwards using dish soap to disengage the doubtlessly repentant trespasser.
Ms. Figueroa is reported to have been subsequently brought out of the chimney with straps and taken to a hospital for medical attention. But reports indicate that she did not sustain any visible injuries.
According to Reuters, the owner of the house that Ms. Figueroa tried to break into who "gave his name only as Lawrence, told local television station KCBS that he had met the woman online and that it was not the first time she had tried to enter his home." The pair had reportedly be on at least 6 dates.
LA police later arrested Ms. Figueroa for illegally trying to enter into the Thousand Oaks residence. She has also been charged with misinforming a police officer after she was found to have provided a false identity when questioned initially.
The woman stuck in chimney of California home has not been found on any phone listing. Police say it is also unclear if she has hired an attorney.
The case of the woman stuck in chimney of California home is not rare. Earlier in the year in Lake Forest, a 32-years-old man also got trapped in the chimney of his ex-wife's home as he was attempting to sneak into the property.
