British Man Faked Coma For Two Years After Being Charged With Embezzlement: Police [VIDEO]

British man faked coma for two years - The rather daring plan of Alan Knight, 43, of Swansea, Wales, had been reportedly working perfectly until doctors noted that the allegedly paralyzed man was eating and writing by himself.

Reports indicate that Knight funneled about $65,000 from a pensioner's bank account, which he spent on a holiday trip and also to buy a van.

Officers say each time he was set to appear in court, the man faked coma for two years now. But investigators recorded him on CCTV camera at a shopping mall, walking around by himself.

Knight, who appeared in court on a wheelchair and with a brace around his neck, confessed to his crime. Reports indicate that he will be sentenced on Nov. 7th.

Judge Paul Thomas noted that how Knight appeared in court is quite different from how he was on the CCTV footages.

"Although [Knight is] a very accomplished and determined actor he is nothing like in the condition he claims to be, and the conditions he claims to be suffering [quadriplegic and prone to comatose] from are simply non existent," Judge Thomas said.

He also noted that "Aspects of this case in my experience are unique, and a strong message needs to be sent out to anyone who seeks to adopt similar tactics."

DC Paul Harry, who is one of the officers on the case, explained that Knight - who was on pension - also wasted thousands of tax payer's money on his spoof condition.

DC Paul described the man faked coma for two years as "the most calculating, long-term deception of vulnerable neighbor I have come across." Reports indicate that the authorities have since reimbursed the elderly man who Knight defrauded.

Meanwhile, his wife and accomplice has not been charged with any crimes, according to AP.

The man faked coma for two years is quite rare. But there have been instances in the past where people deceived the authorities by claiming to be sick when they aren't.
