Victoria Beckham: Britain’s Most Successful Entrepreneur This 2014

Victoria Beckham is an English businesswoman, fashion designer, model and singer. She rose to fame with the all-female pop group Spice Girls in the late '90s. But recently, Beckham was named as Britain's most successful entrepreneur of 2014.

Because of Victoria Beckham's expanding fashion empire, she had topped the list of Britain's top 100 entrepreneurs by Management Today Magazine. According to BBC News, the magazine praised her for "finely tuned business acumen."     

As one of the most successful English entrepreneurs, Victoria Beckham's business has turned over £30 million last year, an increase of 2,900 percent in the last five years. The list of UK's most successful entrepreneurs of 2014 is based on strong sales; the number of jobs created and estimated overall fortune in the last five years.

Since the launched of Victoria Beckham's fashion empire five years ago, the operation has grown from $1 million to $30 million and staff numbers are up from 3 to 100, which is a remarkable employment growth of 3,233 percent in the same period. According to The Telegraph UK, Beckham has also recently opened her 6,000 square foot boutique in London's Mayfair.

Victoria Beckham came from a well-off family in Essex before becoming part of one of the world's most successful girl band, Spice Girls. In 2008, Mirror UK reported that Beckham launched herself into the world and by 2011 her clothes were one of the big show stealers at the New York Fashion Week.

As being an acclaimed entrepreneur, Victoria Beckham won the designer brand of the year in 2011. Currently, she is known to be selling luxury handbags for £18,000 each and her primary income source is now selling clothes.

"She's got a real business, some design talent and some business nous," Management Today Magazine Deputy Director Andrew Saunders stated. "She gets a lot of stick for being a celeb fashionista but I don't think that's fair. She has built something real out of her own celebrity which is quite a contemporary story. She deserves to be celebrated."

Being hailed as Britain's most successful entrepreneur, 40-year-old Victoria Beckham beat names including Amit & Meeta Patel, founders of pharmaceutical group Auden Mckenzie, Julian Dunkerton of clothing chain Supergroup and Tony Pidgley, founder of house building firm Berkeley Group.

With a net worth of £210 million, Management Today concluded that Victoria Beckham has become an extremely talented entrepreneur in the fashion industry. And in spite of the fashion business taking a blow during the recession, Beckham has managed to maintain herself as one of the high-end brands that rakes lucrative amount of revenues.
