New York woman beheaded - A woman has been beheaded by her son who committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving Long Island rail road train after his brutal crime.
Police have revealed that the New York woman beheaded was 66-years-old Patricia Ward, an assistant professor of Language Arts at Farmingdale State College's LI Education Opportunity Center.
Nassau County authorities say Ward was gruesomely murdered on Tuesday shortly before 8.p.m by her 35-years-old son Derek Ward.
Reports indicate that Derek, who has a history of mental disorder, used a kitchen knife to stab and then behead his mother.
The incident is believed to have begun on the second floor of the Farmingdale apartment they both shared. Detective Lt. John Azzata said that the New York woman beheaded had several broken ribs and stab wounds.
"There were multiple signs of trauma, multiple stab wounds, broken ribs," Azzata said. He went on to reveal that police have found the knife used in the horrific incident.
Derek's body was found on the train tracks. Although investigations are still on-going, authorities believe his death was a suicide. He allegedly jumped in front of a moving Ronkonkoma-bound train near Clinton St after murdering his mother in the apartment they've shared for three months.
