Manchester City and Manchester United will open a new chapter of their intense rivalry in the much-awaited Manchester Derby on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.
What's on the Line: Manchester City has not tasted a victory these past two week as Manuel Pelligrini's guys played a to 2-2 draw with CSKA Moscow at the UEFA Champions League group stage and then lost to both West Ham United 1-2 and Newcastle United 0-2 in domestic leagues.
There are doubts whether Manchester City will stay in contention for their second consecutive English Premier League championship after three straight setbacks. However, Pelligrini pointed out that his team is capable of bouncing back from debacles as they proved last year against Manchester United.
"I always say I am not the kind of manager that thinks when you win (it is) because you did (one) single thing. I think it is very important to play in one way and have absolute trust your players, and I think always the players make the difference," Pelligrini stated via ESPN FC.
"The (derby) game we played here was in a moment when I was new here, when maybe there were a lot of doubts about the results that we were taking, especially away.
Manchester United, which fell prey to City's 4-1 onslaught last season, will arrive in the opponents' home stadium sporting a different kind of mindset after loading up their roster with top-level talents (Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Marco Rojo). They also held their own against EPL leader Chelsea last week, as they played to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Predicted Starting Lineup for Manchester Derby:
Manchester City (Possible 4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaletta, Vincent Kompany, Martin Demichellis, Gael Clichy; Fernando Reges, Yaya Toure, James Miler, Samir Nasri, Stevan Jovetic, Sergio Aguero.
Manchester United (Possible 4-2-3-1) David De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Chris Smalling, Rojo De Marcos, Luke Shaw; Daley Blind, Maroune Fellaini, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Angel Di Maria; Robin Van Persie.
Live Stream, TV Schedule and Game Stats: Manchester Derby will start at 8:30 a.m (US EST) on Sports Stream, NBC Sports and Sky Go. The game can also be watched on Live Stream via Sky Go and NBC Sports, while stats, commentaries and game recap are available on ESPN FC.
