After getting a glimpse of the new Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Nexus 9, Samsung Galaxy S5 users will have something to look forward to as reports indicated that the updated operating system will be released soon.
SamMobile allegedly obtained a leaked version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S5. Based from the video posted on the website, the version, which is dubbed as LRX02E, looks better than the previously-leaked edition of the operating system for the Korean giant's flagship mobile phone.
"LRX02E is far more polished than the initial leak and the site goes on to say that the differences are night and day," Gottabemobile noted. "The leak also contains a number of new features including the Galaxy Note 4′s new lock screen, a new system wide font, improvements to Samsung's core TouchWiz apps including Music, and new animations that make the update far smoother than the previous early build."
While there are improvements from the previous leaks, the alleged edition is far from being a release candidate because there are still several flaws as noted by SamMobile. However, it is still a reason to believe that Samsung users will soon get their hands on the highly-regarded Android Lollipop 5.0 system.
"Samsung's clear cut progress means that the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update release is making a ton of progress in the build up to December and it also means that the update, which still hasn't been confirmed by Samsung, is all but certain to be arriving for the Galaxy S5. Like there was any doubt. Still, it's reason for Galaxy S5 users to get excited," Gottabemobile noted.
Aside from Galaxy S5, Samsung is expected to develop Android 5.0 Lollipop update will also be available for Galaxy Note 4 devices. And in the future, the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 are also expected to get the update, but Galaxy Note 2 and S3 users might be forced to stay on Android KitKat.
"Android 4.4 KitKat represented just the first major Android update for both the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. Both devices should be included in Samsung's Android 5.0 plans," Gottabemobile added. "Historically, Samsung's kept devices updated for two years which means that phones like the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 are teetering on the edge. There's a chance that both of those former flagships stay on Android 4.4 KitKat."
