Michael Skiadas: New York Man Shoots Ex-Girlfriend's Lover And Commits Suicide

Michael Skiadas - A 37 years old man from Mount Sinai committed suicide late on Sunday after attacking and shooting at his ex-girlfriend and her new lover at Port Jefferson station.

According to Suffolk County Police, Michael Skiadas, the suspect, died on the scene, while the new lover of his ex-girlfriend - Frank Panebianco - was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the Stony Brooks University Hospital.

Meanwhile, the damsel at the center of the incident Jessica Kasten, 28, is reported to have escaped unharmed.

According to the police, the shooting occurred after Michael Skiadas confronted Kasten and Panebianco on Sunday night as they left the Long Island Pour House bar and grill on Patchgue road, Route 112.

Reports indicate that the suspect Michael Skiadas retreated to his vehicle after a brief verbal argument with the couple and retrieved a shotgun. He then allegedly fired two shots at them as they attempted to flee from the confrontation in their car. Panebianco, 28, also from Mount Sanai, was reportedly struck by one of the bullets in his torso.

Police say a friend of the former lovers, Jack Sneider, 32, who had been out with Kasten and Panebianco, attempted to intervene, but was hit in the head with a gun by Michael Skadias. He has since been treated and discharged for minor injuries.

Michael Skadias is reported to have died in his vehicle after shooting himself. It is unclear what may have precipitated the violent confrontation between the dead suspect and his former lover. Suffolk County homicide investigators are reported to have launched a probe into the incident. The police have said that there are no records of orders for protection between the two ex-lovers. Michael Skadias is reported to have also had a clean criminal record in the county.
