Phil Rudd, 60 and drummer of the famous rock band AC/DC was charged of attempted murder and custody of drugs in New Zealand today, November 6, 2014.
He appeared in New Zealand's Tauranga District Court to face the charges against him and if he was found guilty, he will be sentenced to be in prison for 10 years. Aside from allegedly arranging two murders, he was also caught owning some cannabis and methamphetamine. He didn't make a plea on his first hearing today and he was sent out for a bail but he is coming back to court on November 27 for another court hearing.
The police caught the drummer after organizing a raid that happened right in his home. The raid was scheduled because someone told the police about his crimes but they didn't say any details about it. The judge ordered to hold all the information such as the man who Rudd hired to order the killing as well as the victims in this case.
Run has been residing in the New Zealand for 30 years now so his crimes are under the jurisdiction of the country's law. He was fired from the group but regained his position as the drummer in 1994.
AC/DC is an influential rock band back in the 80s and until now, everybody in the music industry still recognizes the group. Malcolm Young who is the founder of the band is no longer available for tours and appearances now that he is suffering from dementia. The group has sold 200 million copies of their album so their success has really went global.
Meanwhile, the band's album is due for release on November 28 in Australia and it is going to hit market worldwide on December 2 this year. The group also has made an announcement for an upcoming tour next year.
