Welsh man eating face and eyeball - A Welsh man who was caught eating the face and eyeballs of a woman has died after being tasered by police.
Reports indicate that the gory incident happened on Thursday at the Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Argoed, South Wales.
Staff of the hotel, which serves as a temporary shelter for homeless people, reportedly called the cops after several unsuccessful attempts to get the suspect to open his doors.
Gwent Police arrived on the scene at 1.23am following reports that a man had been attacking a woman at the hotel. Neither the police nor staff of the hotel suspected that the Welsh man was eating the face and eyeballs of another person until they broke into his room.
The 34 years old suspect Matthew Williams died shortly after being arrested. "While under arrest, the man became unresponsive. Officers and paramedics administered first aid but he has since been pronounced deceased," a police statement revealed.
The 22 years old unidentified victim, whom the Welsh man was eating her face and eyeballs, died as a result of the injuries she sustained from the gruesome attack. Reports indicate that the woman had just met William and went to his room for a drink.
Gwent police say an investigation has been launched into the cannibalistic incident. The Independent Police Complaints Commission will reportedly also be investigating the murder.
"The IPCC is independently investigating an incident overnight in Blackwood in which a man and a woman have died," a police statement said.
It is unclear what drove the Welch man into eating the face and eyeballs of the victim. Authorities believe the suspect Matthew Williams was acting on his own and has no accomplice. The suspect had reportedly been released from jail about two weeks ago after being imprisoned for violently attacking his ex.
