Savannah Guthrie Shocks ‘Today Show’ Cohosts Over Botox Confession

Following twelve weeks of maternity leave, Savannah Guthrie shocked her cohosts in "Today Show" over her Botox confession. Her revelation came just days after she returned to the show. Guthrie and her husband, Michael Feldman welcomed their daughter Vale on Aug. 13.

Savannah Guthrie is an American journalist and lawyer working for NBC News. In September 2007, she joined NBC News as a legal analyst and correspondent who regularly reported on trials throughout the nation. She was announced as the cohost of "The Today Show" after serving as a White House correspondent.

During "The Today Show" Nov. 6 episode, Savannah Guthrie revealed that she has had a Botox injection. According to The Daily Mail, her confession stunned her cohosts and she also admitted that she would gladly consider doing it again in the future.

Savannah Guthrie's Botox confession came while the group were discussing about the increasing number of men who are having the non-invasive cosmetic enhancement on the show's "Trending" segment.

The 42-year-old host, Savannah Guthrie revealed to cohosts Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Carson Daly and Josh Elliot that she had one Botox injection in 2009. E! News reported the anchor admitted it while looking at a photograph of herself during an interview with US President Barack Obama in October 2009.

"I have done it, I did it in 2009. Really, I did it, I was working here [at the time]," Guthrie revealed. "[I had it] in my forehead, that's where everyone did it. And you know what? I remember looking back and thinking, 'I don't think that looks that good.'"

During Savannah Guthrie's Botox confession, she admitted that she would definitely consider having Botox again in spite of her reservations about her appearance after the injection.

"I have never done it again," Guthrie confessed. "I'm not saying I wouldn't though. I would. And I mean, I'm definitely a candidate for Botox. Because of wrinkles on your forehead, they're supposed to smooth them out."

Savannah Guthrie's Botox confession came after she returned to the show after 12 weeks of maternity leave. She gave birth to daughter, Vale, in August. Her admission surprised her cohosts, who were full of questions about the cosmetic procedure. Her cohosts were also intrigued about the anchor's views on whether people should consider having the process done.

But when Savannah Guthrie's cohosts were asked if they would be willing to indulge themselves in "Bro-tox" or the male version of Botox, all four of them, who were all men, emphasized that the procedure is not something they would ever consider.

"It's... a low-grade chemical weapon," Josh Elliot joked. "You know what, it's like a Zamboni, and it just smooths you out."

"No... I feel like we've earned [our wrinkles]," Elliot added before Al Roker suggested that if Botox was ever "sold as bacon," he might consider it.

While "The Today Show" men were opposed to undergoing Botox injection, Savannah Guthrie might just consider on doing it again in the future.

Apart from Savannah Guthrie's Botox confession, the anchor also shared her sentiments about her comeback to the show after giving birth in August.

"It's so great to be back here, just to see everybody and all of our friends here behind the scenes," Guthrie said during Monday's show. "I'm used to that 3 a.m. alarm, but it sounds more like a baby crying."

Savannah Guthrie's Botox confession came in light as celebrities and television personalities are experiencing the ongoing pressure in Hollywood to look ageless.
