Scotty McMillan death - A 3 years old boy has been tortured to death by his mother's boyfriend in Chester County, Penn. for refusing to eat his breakfast.
Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan, who disclosed the news to the press on Thursday, described the case as "an American horror story."
"He [Scotty McMillan] was punched in the face and in the stomach, he was scourged with a homemade whip, he was lashed with a metal rod, he was tied to a chair and beaten, he was tied upside down by his feet and beaten, his head was smashed through a wall and at the end of that he had bruises on top of bruises all over his body," Hogan revealed.
Scotty McMillan, who lived in a West Caln trailer residence with his mother Jillian Tait, 31, along with his 6-year-old brother Ryan and his mother's boyfriend Gary Fellenbaum, 23, was reported dead on Tuesday evening after he was found to be unresponsive.
Investigators have revealed that Amber, Fellenbaum's ex-wife, who lives with them, called the cops to report that Scotty McMillan was responsive on the request of Tait.
Police say the little boy was found bruised up, with wounds all over his body. He reportedly died before reaching a medical facility.
"When his body went into the emergency room our ER nurses - who see a lot of terrible things - when they saw his body, they wept," Hogan disclosed.
According to Hogan, Scotty McMillan had been beaten and systematically tortured for three days at the time he was found by the cops.
He was reportedly lashed with various homemade tools, including both blunt and sharp objects. Investigators say Scotty McMillan was whipped while hanging upside down and duck-taped to a chair.
Tait and Amber, who confessed that Scotty McMillan was severely beaten by Fellenbaum, have been charged. While Tait and Fellenbaum have been leveled with up to 15 charges including murder, Amber was charged with child endangerment.
According to Hogan, Scotty McMillan was put to bed in an unresponsive state after being beaten by Fellenbaum. She then proceeded to buy pizza, engage in sexual activity with her boyfriend and took a short nap before realizing that the child had stopped breathing.
Tait confessed that Fellenbaum often beat her sons, while he and she laughed about it. Tait and Fellenbaum are being held without bail and the district attorney says he will be seeking the death penalty in their case.
Meanwhile, Scotty McMillan's brother Ryan has reportedly been put under the care of relatives.
