Katherine Heigl New Show: Former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Makes A Role Of A Lifetime Television Comeback

It has been four years since Katherine Heigl was seen on television. But with the upcoming new show, the former "Grey's Anatomy" star makes a "role of a lifetime" comeback on the much-talked about NBC drama as a top CIA analyst and presidential advisor.

Katherine Heigl's new show, "State of Affairs", is an upcoming political thriller series which is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 17, 2014 on NBC. In the series, Heigl plays the role of CIA analyst Charleston Tucker, who is tasked with assembling and presenting the President's Daily Briefing on the most important security issues facing the nation.

Alfre Woodard is also featured on Katherine Heigl's new show. She plays President Constance Payton as the first female black president, who in a different world, would have been Tucker's mother-in-law.

In pilot episode of Katherine Heigl's new show, the Wall Street Journal said Heigl's character, who's fiancé was killed in the line of duty, is having a hard time getting over it, adding to the pressure is her dead fiancé's mother, who is also her boss and the President of the United States.

"I am going to find every last person who had anything to do with the death of my fiancé and your son, and I'm going to end every single one of their lives," one of the famous lines said by Heigl's character in the series.

In the upcoming series, Heigl's character may be the president's weapon but she is also struggling with her own issues. As per Us Weekly, her character is on a never-ending quest to track down the terrorists responsible for murdering her fiancé.

"We're really trying to show the side of the CIA that gathers all the information of the major threats facing the nation," Heigl explains through an E! News report. "Something about her feels like an adult to me in ways that other roles haven't. I don't know if it's because I feel like an adult."

"I feel like I'm finally like a legitimate grown-up with two children and a husband of almost seven years. I feel like a grown-up who has taken on a grown-up role," Katherine Heigl said about her new comeback role.

After her last television series "Grey's Anatomy," Katherine Heigl makes a role of a lifetime comeback in her new show, "State of Affairs," which will premiere on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
