Colorado Rescue Crews Release Man Trapped Between Department Store Wall For 4 Days

Colorado rescue crews - A man who was trapped between the walls of a department store for at least 4 days has been rescued by Colorado firefighters.

Colorado rescue crews and police officers were able to free 35 years old Paul Felyk after 30 minutes on Tuesday morning. They had to tear through the walls in order to free him. Reports indicate that Felyk was trapped in an empty space between the interior and exterior walls of a Marshall's store located in Longmont, about 35 miles north of Denver.

Police say after he was rescued Felyk was taken to the hospital, where he is said to be recovering from injuries. He suffered injuries to his legs and is also undergoing treatment for dehydration.

Police say they received a distress call from an employee of the store, who heard a man yelling on Monday, but couldn't tell where his voice was coming from.

On Tuesday, Colorado rescue crews were able to ascertain that Felyk was calling for help through a tinny opening at the store's back wall.

Colorado authorities say Felyk entered the department store building through the roof then he fell about 20 feet. But cops are yet to determine what may have led his fall or how long his has been stuck between the wall.

Colorado rescue crews say the Felyk tried to pass notes through the interior walls of the Marshall's store. Reports say the notes describe where he was trapped, at least one of the notes is said to have been dated in Nov.8.

Police say an investigation into the incident has begun. They suspect criminal activity, although this has not been ascertained. Felyk has a long history of crime, police reports show that he has been convicted in the past, including for, assault, robbery. trespassing, theft and criminal mischief.

Colorado authorities are also investigating if Felyk's presence between the walls may have led to businesses in the area complaining of problems with their Internet and phone connections and also with their heating systems.

Although he has not been arrested, police say Felyk is likely to be charged for attempted burglary.
