Police Seizes ‘Cake Boss’ Famed Cakes Baker Buddy Valastro For DWI in New York City

"Cake Boss" famed cakes baker Buddy Valastro was arrested by the authorities in New York City early Thursday, Nov. 13 on driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges. The New York Police Department said baker's car was swerving in and out of lanes at around 1 a.m. near Penn Station when he was pulled over.

The cakes baker of TLC's "Cake Boss" was arrested for allegedly "driving erratically" in a yellow 2014 Corvette when was stopped by the authorities. According to the Washington Times, Buddy Valastro was unsteady on his feet when he stepped out of his car and failed a field sobriety test at the scene.

Buddy Valastro is an American celebrity chef, entrepreneur and reality television star. He rose to fame when he starred in the reality television series "Cake Boss," which premiered in TLC on April 2009. He is also the owner of Carlo's Bakery and the face of Buddy V's.

"Cake Boss" cakes baker Buddy Valastro was reportedly observed by officers of the New York City Police Department with blood shot, watery eyes and smelled alcohol on his breath when he was arrested. According to E! News, Valastro was taken to central booking in Manhattan's Lower East Side for arraignment after it was confirmed that he was, indeed, drunk.

The DWI charge to the reality TV star was his first ever offense, as reported by Us Weekly.

The "Cake Boss" cakes baker Buddy Valastro attended his arraignment along with his legal team. NBC News New York reported he did not enter a plea and is due to be back in court in January.

"You can't arrest me. I'm the Cake Boss," the famed pastry maker allegedly said to arresting officers, as revealed by the prosecutors. They also said Valastro admitted to the authorities that he had a few drinks before driving.

 "We are thankful no one was harmed. This is a personal matter for Buddy and his family," TLC said via a released statement.

"To all my family, friends, fans and supporters, please know that I want to share and explain to you what happened today and I look forward to doing so at a later date," cakes baker Buddy Valastro of "Cake Boss" said in a statement Thursday. "I appreciate your support and understanding as we handle things privately as a family."
