On a special concert performance in Orlando last Tuesday, Zayn Malik reunited with fellow One Direction band members: Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne. Malik's reunion created a buzz on social media such as Twitter and Instagram.
Fans feared that Zayn Malik won't be able to perform on Tuesday night at One Direction's Orlando concert. E! News reported die-hard fans were nervous after Liam Payne revealed his band mate had a tummy bug. But based on social media reactions, fans said that One Direction was back and better that ever.
On social media sites like Instagram and Twitter, Zayn Malik created a buzz after his remarkable absence during a highly publicized appearance by One Direction on the "Today" show on Monday. Us Weekly reported the band's appearance was in promotion for the release of their band's new studio album, "Four."
"Today" show's host, Matt Lauer grilled the One Direction members over Zayn Malik's absence. He asked why Malik was not joining them in Orlando, Florida, for the special show from Universal Studios. But when the host asked about the drugs rumors, the One Direction members were taken aback, caused fans to boo the host and fueled a social media storm, likely on Instagram and Twitter.
However, in a world exclusive interview with Dan Wootton of The Sun, Zayn Malik angrily blasted Lauer's drug abuse claims.
"I'm really angry and upset by what was said on the Today show. I was really ill at the weekend, that's why I couldn't fly to America," Zayn Malik said. "I was gutted to have to miss album release day, but I'm going to be back as soon as I can. As soon as I'm feeling better I'm going to join the guys and carry on with the promotion for the album."
Meanwhile, One Direction have been very busy recently. After their royal meeting with Prince William and Duchess Kate, the band still can't believe all the success they have received.
"I think this is the album we're most proud of," Harry Styles shared. "It's exciting and nervous at the same time."
Now that Zayn Malik is back, it appears one of the other One Direction boys may be going off the rails a bit. Liam Payne has thrown a bit of a rock and roll style hissy. It sounds like he was feeling a little sick when he returned to his hotel room after a long day's work yesterday. He shared a video on Instagram, showing him tossing a clock radio off his bed stand.
"When u get to the hotel and the music perfectly fits the mood lol," Payne captioned.
Die-hard fans who watched Zayn Malik's reunion with One Direction during the private performance at Universal went into a frenzy. They excitedly shared the good news on Twitter and Instagram to tell fellow One Directioners. Some of them even posted pictures or videos of Malik and other band members during the show.
On the other hand, Matt Lauer have received some serious backlash on social media, like on Instagram and Twitter, for his line of questioning during the "Today's" show.
