Crystal Goodwin body found - Philadelphia Police have found the naked and bloody body of a woman who had been reported missing.
The victim was identified as Crystal Goodwin after pictures of her tattoos were matched with those on the mutilated corpse by police officers.
Crystal Goodwin's body was found behind an old warehouse on 1900 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard near the Columbus Commons shopping mall around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim is believed to be between the ages of 35 to 40 year old. Paramedics pronounced her dead on the scene. The body of was found to have a large wound around the right rib cage.
Local sources say Crystal Goodwin went missing last week Wednesday--a day after she was released from prison. Reports indicate that she had been battling with drug addiction.
Philadelphia Police say investigations have begun into the cause of death. However, based on preliminary evidence gathered at the scene, cops suspect Crystal Godwin was murdered and dumped in the weeds behind the shopping mall.
Reports indicate that shortly after Crystal Godwin's body was found, cops arrived on the scene. Coincidentally, some members of her family were also heading to the mall to shop around the same time.
According to the Daily Mail UK, some of her relatives approached the officers and showed them a picture of the missing woman. It turned out that the tattoos on the missing person in the photo matched those on the body just found.
Crystal Goodwin's family members were obviously distraught when the officers informed them that it was her corpse behind the mall.
Crystal Goodwin reportedly had young daughter. Reports indicate that she had a long criminal record, including repeated charges for drug possession and theft.
