Both looking for a that crucial win heading into the homestretch mark of the season, the Packers and the Patriots are all primed to bring their A-game on the battlefield that is expected to be fiery in a cold winter season.
New England has been the beast of the AFC these past few weeks, as they beat down division leaders after division leaders in dominating fashion. The Patriots defeated the New England Patriots 43-21, then the Indianapolis Colts 42-20, before they obliterated the Detroit Lions 34-9 last Sunday.
However, Pats head coach Bill Belichick is aware that his team should not be complacent despite their recent 'blowout' wins, even more against a team that is equally as dominant in the other conference.
"It's not realistic for us to expect to continue to blow teams out like that, or, I don't want to say blow out, but win by a large margin," Belichick told reporters prior to their showdown against the Packers. "I can't really put my finger on what it is. I think it's a culmination of things and preparation, I think, is at the forefront of that."
Like the Patriots, the Packers also had a so-so start but they bounced back in a terrific way, defeating seven of their last eight games. All of a sudden, Green Bay is now on top of the NFC North and they could even boost their advantage by recording a big win against New England.
But aside from the battle between two Super Bowl contenders, Sunday's matchup between the Packers and the Patriots becomes even more special because it will feature as the first meeting of two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today, Brady and Rodgers.
