Mickey Rourke Boxing Match: ‘The Wrestler’ Star’s Comeback Bout Reported To Be Fixed; 62-Year Old Actor Fought Homeless Man Paid To ‘Make Him Look Good’

62-year old Mickey Rourke won in dominant fashion in his comeback fight on Friday. Or so everyone thought.

The veteran actor and former professional boxer made his return to the ring in Moscow, Russia against 29-year old Elliot Seymour, in an exhibition match scheduled for five rounds.

To everyone's surprise, Rourke was able to outclass his much younger opponent, winning the bout by second round knockout. Seymour, who holds an abysmal professional boxing record of 1-9, went down twice in the second round, with the referee stepping in to put the bout to a halt at the 1:14 mark.

However, a source close to Seymour's family spoke to Daily Mail Online, revealing that the entire bout was a fix, with the younger fighter allegedly paid to 'make Rourke look good.'

"All these headlines Mickey Rourke beat someone half his age... yeah he did but you're not telling them the real story, the real story is he's homeless and desperate and he will probably go back to living on the streets when he gets back. People have no clue about that," the source said, who chose for his identity to be kept anonymous.

The source adds that Seymour, who had been living on the streets for 18 months already, was supposed to have the fight end on the fourth round. He also noted that Seymour was suffering from undisclosed mental issues.

"There's so much more to the situation than people know, and there's so much that's more important than the fact it was fixed, which is the fact he doesn't have a home and he's got some mental health issues," the source added.

Rourke had a short-lived boxing career in the mid-90's, holding a professional record of 6-0-2, with four victories ending by knockout. While his intent to make another run at boxing has yet to be determined, it is believed that the making of the said fight was done as an ego boost for him.

"Obviously it will be beneficial for Mickey Rourke - it probably made him feel good, boosted his ego to be able to say he beat somebody half his age," the anonymous source said.

As of this posting, neither Mickey Rourke or his camp has released a statement regarding the matter.
