E! has finally confirmed Kathy Griffin as the new host of "Fashion Police" on Monday, People reported.
The network has ended the speculations about the hosting spot and signed a contract with Griffin as Rivers' replacement. Griffin considers the late actress as her mentor. Following the news, the newest fashion commentator has expressed her excitement about the show.
"I get it! These are some big shoes I'm going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I'm just Kathy. Did I say I'm just Kathy? I meant I'm Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so dammit let's have some fun!" Griffin said, according to CNN.
The comedian is not the only new face in the cast. Celebrity fashion stylist Brad Goreski will replace style editor George Kotsiopoulos as a panel judge.
To inform his followers about the news, Goreski posted on Twitter: "I am SO excited to be joining @kathygriffin, @GiulianaRancic and @KellyOsbourne on @e_FashionPolice! Can't wait to break it all down!!"
Meanwhile, executive producer Melissa Rivers is looking forward for the new fashion critics to join the panel.
"Kathy just feels right, and Brad brings a fun, new voice to join Giuliana and Kelly in this ensemble. I'm excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation, "the producer said, Huffington Post reported.
Aside from the new cast addition, the show will change its platform. Previously, the series airs weekly discussing fashion hits and slips of celebrities. This season, "Fashion Police" will air 17 episodes for the whole year that will showcase red carpet events such as the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and New York Fashion Week.
The first episode will broadcast on Jan. 12, 2015 highlighting the Golden Globes event.
