Boxing Rumors 2014: Mayweather Promotions offered $110 million by UAE investment group to fight Manny Pacquiao

After weeks of back and forth bickering between both camps, another crucial piece of information has surfaced.

According to a report by Boxingscene.com, the highly anticipated mega bout between eight-division world champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and reigning pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd "Money" Mayweather may happen in Dubai, with an investment group from the United Arab Emirates spearheading the negotiations.

The report adds that the group had already extended an offer to Floyd Mayweather's camp through Mayweather Promotions to finally agree to face his long-time paper rival. The price: a whopping $110 million, which is considered to be the most lucrative offer in boxing history.

The buzz around the aforementioned fight has been alive since 2009, when both men were at the peak of their careers. Mayweather was on a self-imposed hiatus after destroying all of his opponents, while Pacquiao was on a tear as well as he climbed up in weight.

Unfortunately, various issues such as drug-testing demands from the Mayweather camp and pay cut deals that were never agreed upon became the main deterrent from making the fight materialize.

While both fighters have continued to face their respected opponents through the years, what could be the biggest and riches fight in all of boxing has remained relevant. So much so that one of the group's principals M. Akbar Muhammad is willing to do everything in his power to finally have a deal signed.

"I've been instructed by the group to do whatever it takes to bring this long-awaited and eagerly anticipated fight to fruition," Muhammad confidently said. "There's absolutely no doubt that each fighter, individually, will receive more money than any other boxer has in the past."

Muhammad added that the combined purses may kick up to $200 million and that they have the resources for it. However, they are expecting something in return: to be a major player within the Mayweather Promotions company.

Not only do they want to be a part of the potential 50-0 win-loss record that Mayweather may achieve, but they also want to be part of the Promotion Company's future fight cards.

"I began my boxing career working with Muhammad Ali, the greatest of all time," Muhammad added.  "Now I'm coming full circle, hopefully, to work with Floyd Mayweather, the best ever."
