Earlier this year, Kristina Pimenova was named by Women Daily Magazine as the "Most Beautiful Woman in the World." She has over 2 million followers on social media including Tumblr, Facebook and Instagram. Kristina is the daughter of former model Glikeriya Shirokova and retired Russian footballer Ruslan Pimenova.

Though Kristina Pimenova is just 9-year-old, she has been a very successful model since she was 3. According to The Daily Mail, Kristina has a multitude of fans on social media particularly on Tumblr. While Pimenova's mother emphasized that Kristina does not post online, the young Russian model brags an Internet presence bigger than any celebrity twice her age. And the controversial comments on her social media accounts is an indication of a child modeling industry gone awry.

"There is something very wrong - and creepy - going on when fashion has become so divorced from reality that a flat-chested, prepubescent, hip-less young child is a style icon," Essential Kids' Amber Robertson wrote. "I do wonder what messages it sends to young girls, that to be an icon all you have to do is be pretty... When do these little child models get a chance to dress down, hang out with kids their own age and have fun?"

Kristina Pimenova's Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook shots still attract dozens of comments that several are holding up as evidence the young girl is being sexualized by some of her adult social media fans. A London-based model agent also expressed insights on the ongoing controversy.

"You can say her expression is sultry in her photos, or suggestive, or too mature," an anonymous London-based model agent stated. "Or you can say she looks moody and sulky. Essentially, you're just looking at a girl who happens to be extraordinary beautiful. Perhaps if her face was that of an average-looking child, no-one would be having this conversation."

Though Kristina Pimenova has taken the fashion industry by storm and her Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook have gained thousands of followers, the issue still remain to be a grave and sensitive subject of the extent of parents on protecting the privacies of their children to ensure they are not manipulated, sexualized and exploited on the Internet.

Despite the havoc caused by some of the twisted comments posted on Kristina Pimenova's Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook accounts, the young Russian model is just one of the several other child models who mesmerized the world with her extraordinary beauty.
