Eric Beasley Florida Deerfield - A 25 years old biology teacher at a religious school has confessed to having sex with his 14-year-old ninth grade student, who he enticed.
In the Broward Circuit Court on Monday, Eric Beasley, a teacher at the Zion Lutheran Christian School in Deerfield, Florida, pleaded guilty to persuading his student into having sex with him several times.
Lighthouse Point police have revealed that Eric Beasley and the unidentified minor were arrested on April 1st, after officers spotted the two having sexual relations in a car parked by Deerfield Beach. Cops say the windows of the car, which was parked behind a mall, was barely covered with a shirt and sun visors.
Local sources have reported that Eric Beasley and the minor lied to cops; telling them that they were adults who met online and were having consensual oral sex. However, just moments afterwards, the girl confessed that she was 14 years old and that Beasley was her teacher.
Eric Beasley admitted to enticing the minor. He said they have been having sex since Valentine's Day. Beasley has since signed a plea deal and faces sexual assault charges. He could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
During the investigation into the case, FBI agents and Broward Sheriff's deputies discovered inappropriate message, naked pictures and at least one video that had been exchanged between the two via their phones.
"I want to tell you. Inside and out. Not want. Need. I require intimacy with you. Kissing you feels as essential as breathing," Beasley wrote in one text.
"I miss you. But we have to remain cautious and vigilant. Every meeting is a risk. I won't let that stop me from seeing you altogether, but we should be cautious about how many risks we take," another message said.
His lawyers, Michael Gelety and John Contini, say Eric Beasley still has feelings for the underage girl, even though he now admits that they were misguided. According to Gelety a doctor who evaluated Beasley described him as a "wandering romantic."
"He still cares about the girl...he wants to minimize the trauma to her," Gelety said.
The Zion Lutheran Christian School placed Eric Beasley on an unpaid administrative leave after he was arrested. He had been teaching at the school for two years. The girl's parents, whose identities have been withheld to protect her, are reportedly suing the school and all affiliated organizations.
