This year, the Audi 605HP Prologue car concept was the star of the LA Auto Show and it was shining away in the California sun at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. According to GT Spirit, the Prologue concept car gives a very strong presence and promising outlook for the future of car technology.
Audi's new Head of Design Marc Lichte is shaping a new design approach and language for the company. And with the 605HP Prologue concept car, Lichte shows Audi's sportiness, lightweight design and underscores the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. In the latest Audi design, the lower and wider shoulders above the wheels clearly show the bearing of the Quattro drive while the rear of the Prologue Concept is slanted in the driving direction with rear lights running across the entire width of the car.
Audi's Prologue concept car shows the German automaker's ambitious move in producing a car of the future and it is no secret that Audi plans to make a range-topping A9. Autoblog said the Prologue is Audi's next-generation exterior and interior design. Prologue's aesthetic is also described as "Timeless but progressive."
While the Prologue won't essentially spawn its own production model, its elements will be incorporated on the next A6, A7 and A8.
Among the state-of-the-art features of the Audi 605HP Prologue is the "three-level" simulated 3D cockpit, with one showing crucial driving information and two simulating visual depth. Engadget said the pilot and passengers can control all the data thru an exaggerated array of touch displays.
Another promising feature of the Prologue concept car is the "virtual butler," which can figure out whose driving based on their smartphone and set up the seating, climate control, navigation options and music to suit.
The Audi Prologue concept car is not the most impressive piece at the LA Auto Show by appearance, as Gizmag said. But Audi's focus on simple, contemporary yet modern design makes the company achieve a masterful job of creating a sporty and muscular vehicle that has all the presence and subtle detail of a true luxury flagship coupe.
The Audi 605HP Prologue costs millions of dollars but with its high-tech equipment, it's all worth it. And with the Prologue, Audi just proved they created style and intrigue without exaggerating the illusions of fantasy.
