Record producer Dr. Luke filed a defamation case against Kesha's attorney after the latter accused him of raping Lady Gaga.
Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos accused Dr. Luke a.k.a Lukasz Gottwald of raping Lady Gaga in a Twitter post. Lady Gaga revealed to radio host Howard Stern that she was raped by a music producer at the age of 19 but did not name the perpetrator.
Referring to the rape incident, the attorney tweeted: "Guess who the rapist was?" A fan asked if it was Dr. Luke and Geragos replied "#bingo."
In reply, Dr. Luke's lawyers denied the claim and dubbed it as "maliciously false." The record producer's camp submitted a court document that reads:
"Through the publication of these 'tweets,' [Geragos] unambiguously and crassly asserted that [Dr. Luke] was the 'rapist' who sexually assaulted Lady Gaga. Dr Luke has] never been alone with [Lady Gaga], has never touched her and has met her only twice for very brief periods of time," The Guardian reported.
A representative of Lady Gaga also denied the allegations. "The Dr. Luke lawsuit is utterly incomprehensible. This simply isn't true and how dare someone take advantage of such a sensitive matter," the rep said.
The lawyer stood by his claim and declared that he was telling the truth. Geragos mentioned the rape cases against Bill Cosby and commented that the victims are now strong enough to reveal the truth.
The attorney revealed that he wants Lady Gaga to testify in Kesha's case against Dr. Luke. The record producer reportedly abused three other women, who are all ready to be witnesses.
Last October, Kesha accused Dr. Luke of physical and sexual abuse. The case filed by the pop singer reported that the producer forced her to take drugs and sexually abused her afterwards. Other than that, Kesha was physically abused in Dr. Luke's Malibu house, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Dr. Luke's spokesperson said that they are filing a lawsuit also against Kesha. Further details about the report were not revealed.
Lukasz Gottwald is the music producer of hit songs behind pop stars such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus.
