Joey Bada$$ Releases ‘No. 99’ MV Off Debut LP, Dedicates It To Late Cousin [WATCH]

Joey Bada$$, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, is set to debut his first LP next month, titled "B4.DA.$$," and ahead of time he released a music video dedicated to his late cousin Junior B, MTV reported.

Scott's music video, titled "No. 99," pays homage to the late 24-year-old by showing a picture of him and a message written by Scott that said, "Thank you for blessing us with your heavenly gift and may your soul rest in peace."

There was even an image of Ferguson shooting victim Michael Brown mixed in, as a way to hammer home the theme of justice prevalent through the video.

The video, which was directed by Rik Cordero, is also meant to look like a fake newscast reporting about crime cases in Brooklyn and showing people looking shocked at the actions of Badmon, played by Scott, according to SPIN. Badmon is a masked vigilante and is leading anti-authority kids in an uprising, burning everything in sight while keeping their identities hidden by wearing silver masks.

Scott's "B4.DA.$$," will be officially released by Cinematic Music Group on Jan. 20, 2015, also Scott's 20th birthday, according to Idolator.

Scott worked with producers such as Statik Selektah, Kirk Knight, Hit Boy and The Roots for "B4.DA.$$." Singers and rappers featured on the album include Maverick Sabre, an Irish singer-rapper who sang for the "Sirens" LP by Gorgon City, Chronizz, BJ the Chicago Kid, Dyemond Lewis, Raury.

There are two bonus tracks on the album, "Run Up On," which was produced by Statik Selektahand features the vocals of Ellie Varner and Action Bronson, and "Teach Me," which was produced by ASTR and Chuck Strangers with guest vocals by Kiesza.

Scott also ended up canceling his European tour after finding out about his cousin's death. There has been no news on if or when the tour will resume.
