iPhone 5 Release Update: Top Reasons Why You Could Pick Apple’s Sixth Gen Phone Over Other Android Releases

As the magnificent unveiling of the New iPad has already impressed the tech world, the focus is now shifted to the next device in the release lineup - the iPhone 5. Moreover, Apple fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the release of the sixth-generation iPhone.

Cognized to all, Apple quite unexpectedly missed out on a few most-anticipated features such as the A6 quad-core processor, Siri and iOS 6 with the new iPad. Hence, it is highly anticipated that these exciting features are definitely to be available on the new iPhone.

At the same time, the media world is abuzz with the highly anticipated smartphone of the year -- Samsung Galaxy S3, which is assumed to come out with breath-taking features to keep it up against the upcoming iPhone device.

Simultaneously, HTC's first quad-core phone with Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor, One X, is also not away from limelight and is expected to throw big competition to both Apple and Samsung in the smartphone arena.

However, considering the overwhelming success of iPhone 4S and the new iPad's top ranking on Consumer Report's list prove that Apple need not to make much effort in order to maintain its dominance in the market for its next power-packed smartphone.

See it to believe it, as here are the top reasons why the intensely rumored Apple next phone could be worth a purchase over other Android releases coming up on the market shelves this year.

Spectacular Form Factor

Earlier, there were reports that Galaxy S3 is likely to have the most sensational screen yet, a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. But bringing down all, recent reports are discussing the possibility of Apple changing the Retina Display for the iPhone 5 to an OLED display. A report on Korea Times has claimed that Apple is showing interest in OLED technology and could switch from LCD to an OLED screen for the next iPhone and also the next iPad.

And if this happens, the next iDevice will have the most brilliant display yet. The report also has explained how Samsung recently established Samsung Display, a spin-off that will focus on moving away from LCD to concentrate on OLED displays.

OLED displays are being increasingly employed and allow for stronger depth of color and enhanced images, even in ultra-slim devices. Hence, Apple is definitely going to win the race when display is concerned.

Further, the next iPhone is expected to be symmetrical in shape, with an aluminum rear panel reinforced by glossy plastic or rubberized bezel. A few earlier reports sated that iPhone 5 would boast a gigantic 4.6-inch screen, but recent reports say Apple is planning to stick to the current 3.5-inch screen size. The device is expected to sport Quantum Dot LED curved glass edge-to-edge display with 1280 x 720 resolutions (367ppi).

Quad-Core A6 Chip

Another upgrade expected in the upcoming iPhone model is that it would be powered by an A6 chip. It will be a superfast 1.2 to 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB or more of RAM to offer amazing processing capabilities to iPhone 5.

In the recent past, an unnamed source, who claimed to have an iPad 3 prototype, sent Boy Genius Report pictures of a diagnostic tool called iBoot, which states a chip model number that appears to be that of the A6 chip.

Super OS -- iOS 6 Upgrade

Going through the records, Apple has always launched a new device with an upgraded version of operating system. Speculations are widespread that an update to iOS 6.0 is possible by the time of the iPhone 5 release later this year against the upcoming Samsung Galxy S3 and HTC One X's Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system.

Ars Technica had published an analysis recently, suggesting some Apple products are already running on iOS 6 software. The analysis would suggest that Apple is either doing a test run on some of its new products. Hence new software is expected at the Worldwide Developers Conference, where the iOS 5 software was revealed last year.

However, rumors suggest that Galaxy S3's TouchWiz would be an upgraded one and would include Samsung hubs for music, reading, games and apps. But, it would be stiff competition for Samsung to beat Apple's powerful operating system.

Better Camera With 3D

Considering Android upcoming smartphones are increasingly coming with 8 megapixel cameras, iPhone 5 is also expected to feature an 8 megapixel or even 10 megapixel camera. Rumors are also rife that iPhone 5 may have a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. Another rumor has also indicated that iPhone 5 may even have a 3D camera.

Improved Siri

iPhone 4S has Siri technology onboard albeit in its beta version. Expect the sixth-gen iPhone carry the improved Siri for a better user experience.

Faster 4G LTE

On top of a new battery and other exciting feature rumors, iPhone 5 is also rumored to feature the latest version of Wi-Fi technology - 4G LTE. Currently, the only Apple product with LTE (long term evolution) technology is the new iPad, but that number is expected to grow enormously by the end of the year.

NFC

According to a recent report by Insane Planet, the NFC technology on the iPhone 5 "is becoming a huge possibility." The report cited a Patently Apple post regarding an Apple patent application about "iWallet" and NFC, and said that Apple had "granted a patent for iWallet to payments via NFC and diagrams passed from Apple to the Patent & Trademark Office in the US shows an iPhone which may possibly be the iPhone 5."

"The idea of the iWallet is to let individuals buy things by merely using their iPhone 5 or any other device of Apple. This means that the user does not need to bring a credit card to a store with NFC support," the report added.

Storage Capacity

The next generation iPhone is rumored to have 16/32/64 GB with external microSD card support.

Power-puffed Battery Life

Rumor has it that iPhone 5 will have a better battery life than the Li-Po 1420 mAh battery in iPhone 4S that gives up to 8 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 14 hours on 2G (GSM).

It is a known fact that iPhone 4S's battery life is one of its most criticized features. Apple tried to fix the bug with an iOS 5.0.1 update and while some users said that it had improved their battery life, others complained that the performance was not good enough. Therefore, it is likely that Apple is focusing on overall higher battery life and performance, which is paramount if it keeps introducing battery draining features like Siri.
