Pennsylvania Shooting Suspect Found Dead - Authorities in Alabama have discovered the dead body of man suspected to have shot and killed 5 people including his ex-wife and her relatives. He wounded at least one other person in the rampage.
After a two-day manhunt, officials found the lifeless body of Bradley William Stone near w. 4th Street in Pennsburg on Tuesday afternoon around 2p.m.
The former marine officer was found dead in the woods, which is only some paces way from his home, where security officers had been searching for clues of his whereabouts.
Although investigators have not announced the cause of death, reports indicate that Stone may have died from self inflicted gunshot wounds.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Freeman confirmed reports that a body was found, but says that investigators are awaiting for official identification.
According to local sources, on Sunday Stone is reported to have shot and killed 33-year-old Nicole Hill Stone, his ex-wife, at the home of his former sister-in-law in Souderton.
It is still unclear what may have led him to fatally shoot her and her relatives. However, reports indicate that the pair were engaged in a battle for custody of their children who are aged 5 and 7.
Authorities were alerted after someone saw Stone fleeing the scene of the murder with his little daughters. He later left the children in the neighborhood before taking off. They are now safely in protective custody.
"She would tell anybody who would listen that he was going to kill her and that she was really afraid for her life," said Evan Weron, a neighbor of the deceased woman.
Reports indicate that Nicole Stone's sister Patricia Flick, her husband Aaron Flick, and the couple's 14-year-old daughter, Nina, were among those murdered during Stone's rampage, which spanned two houses. Their bodies were not discovered until about 8.am.
Anthony Flick, the couple's 17-year-old son, was transported to the hospital after authorities found him with a severe head injury. He is said to be in a stable but very serious condition at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
"I can't emphasize enough how serious his condition is, but at this point, we are hoping he will be fine," Freeman said.
Joanne Hill, Nicole Stone's 57-year old mother and her 75-year-old grandmother Patricia Hill were all killed by Stone. Their bodies were found at their nearby Lansdale home. Officials were reportedly alerted about the fatal incident after a distress call from the address was hung-up.
Bradley William Stone is reported to have been suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and had served in the Marine Reserves from 2002 to 2011. He was an Iraqi veteran and was awarded several honors for his service after being discharged honorably as a sergeant.
The Pennsylvania shooting suspect found dead was reportedly on probation for a conviction and has been arrested on three DUI offences.
