Nike is set to relaunch one of their classic footwear, the Air Jordan 11, this December in a brand new retro colorway named "Legend Blue," NIke reported.
"The classic has become a legend," as Nike claimed it its official site.
The original Air Jordan 11 was inspired by former professional basketball player Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls and was first released back in 1996. Since then, it has been sold in a variety of colorways and styles in the past years, and this holiday season's new "Legend Blue" variety pays homage to the original footwear.
The Air Jordan 11 Retro "Legend Blue" footwear comes in a white and legend blue-black color scheme. It has a mix of white smooth leather and white patent leather, a tongue tag, a translucent outsole that has tints of the legend blue color and a standard Jumpman logo
Close up images of the shoe will be can be seen on Nike and on sites such as Kicks on Fire where interested consumers and Jordan fans can see pictures of the shoe. The photos showed off the footwear's pristine palette and the predominant white hue with the legend blue accents seen on the sole, rear and tongue, giving it a serene type of colorway.
It will be released in stores on Dec. 20 at 8 a.m. EST or 5 a.m. PST and comes at a price of $200 for men's sizes. It also comes in fully family sizing with the Retro GS (3.5T to 7Y) at $150, the Retro PS (10.5c to 3Y) at $85, Retro TD (2c to 10c) at $65 and the Retro Infant (1c to 4c) for $50.
There is a limit of one pair per customer and it is not available for phone orders, but can be bought at Nike's online stores and at select Nike stores, according to Nike. It is also available at select Jordan Brand stores and at Kixify, according to Kicks on Fire.
Nike is also offering the men's sizes via in-store raffles at NIKETOWN New York; NIKELAB 21; and Nike stores at Roosevelt Field, Georgetown, Boston, Dallas, Lenox, Chicago, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Seattle and more.
For all the excitement over the footwear, related news has popped up showing interested buyers coming in by droves for an early purchase. Hundreds appeared at the Genesee Valley Center and even camped out the night before to get it, while police had to be called in as the crowd reportedly grew unruly at the Houston-area malls and a Toledo mall in their attempts to purchase the footwear.
While fans and buyers are growing excited, Nike is offering the footwear in a lot of stores, so people are being asked to line up patiently and prioritize safety first.
