Chris Martin claims he was kidnapped by Angelina Jolie's troop for him to write a song for her film, "Unbroken."
The global launch of "Unbroken" has been good so far. To include in its success is the movie's OSt which is "Miracles" by Chris Martin. However, the singer-songwriter shares a witty explanation on how he was chosen by Angelina Jolie to write the song. Apparently, he was kidnapped.
In an interview with Vulture, Martin explain the entire process.
"I got a message that said, 'Meet in this undisclosed location. You'll be blindfolded and picked up by seven ex-Navy SEALs,'" he said.
This was not the end of his experience because according to him, he was also hit over the head and was sprayed "with Mace."
"So they kidnapped me, hit me over the head, and sprayed me with Mace. When I woke up, I was in an office, and Brad Pitt was doing push-ups as Angelina Jolie was just sitting there with her crow on," he added.
Then, he detailed the threat part of his story.
"There was also a guy holding a knife to my throat, and she said, 'Write me a song, or else.' And Brad Pitt said, 'Yeah. What she said.'"
When he was asked by Kyle Buchanan what happened next he said, "We wrote a song and then she said, 'It's through to the final eight,' and then we had live eliminations at her house."
So in Jolie's own version of "American Idol," he admitted that they only came in second but they were eventually chosen since "the main guy chickened out."
However, fans should not worry about Martin's extortion since this is just an unexpected "improv-comedy" from Coldplay's lead.
